Still not sure the question was answered or understood.  The problem is that my Grandson has purchased and downloaded several apps and programs related to his Gaming activity.  My concern is that the curfew and time limits in the parental controls are not working. and shutting him down automatically at 8PM  or after so many hours of use.  The forum suggested deleting his account and re-creating it.  My question was "won't that wipe out all his programs and downloads as well."  I don't want to take him off Parental Controls, I just want them to work effectively.

What if you don't know the family account?   How do you disconnect your PC from this feature without logging in to Microsoft?   My son has a his own laptop, he's logged in with a local account, not a Microsoft account, but "Family Features" is preventing him from running things including Chrome.  I never installed Family Features, I don't have a Parent Account, I have no idea why his laptop is behaving this way.     All I want to do is stop the PC from having any parental controls.  I don't need them, it's just crippling his computer.  It's Windows 10.

I got similar problem,

I did create a family account for my son (as a child), we faced a lot of problems since then like installing games or other apps (that online family feature is so difficult to use, very little settings and so on), so I decided to delete sons account and my own (as adult - administrator), since then I can't install anything on my PC myself, I can't disable that annoying Microsoft family feature it keeps saying that I have to ask adult permission, lol.

Please help me to stop that family feature on my Windows 10 (build 15063.674).

P.S. I feel sorry I upgraded from Win7 to Win10 :(

Thanks a lot

I resolved my son's issue with the help of Microsoft support.

As a quick recap, my son was the only user on his machine, logging on with a local administrator account, not a Microsoft account, and with full admin privileges but he was still subjected to "family features".

The solution was to create a new local account and delete his existing one.  After deleting his old account we renamed the new one to how the old one was named.  After that everything was good.

@audisaudis you say you deleted your son's account and your own.   Obviously you must still have SOME account on the machine.  You have to make sure you are using local machine accounts, not Microsoft ones.

But I don't want to use that family thing on my PC anymore, it still keeps running on my PC, I want to install app and it keeps saying to get permission from adult. What an annoying thing it is. Can't even find any services to stop, to prevent from Family feature to run on PC.

Anyway, how to sign with my locan PC account?

I found, that in 2016 still was an option in Windows 10 "Click Sign in with a local account instead .", but now, I can't find this option.

Would reinstalling Windows 10 helps to resolve this issue?
